Subject-verb Agreement

تطابق فعل با فاعــــل (1)

اگر کلمه های زیر به عنوان فاعل جمله واقع شوند ، همیشه فعل مفرد می گیرند.هر چند برخی از این کلمه ها معنای جمع دارند ، ولی همیشه به فعل مفرد نیاز دارند.

Everyone

Everyone is ready.

نکته : این جمله را می توان بجای All the people are ready. به کار برد.

Everybody

Everybody is ready.

نکته : هیچ فرقی بین everybody  و everyone  وجود ندارد.

Everything

Everything has been wasted.

نکته : ترجیحاً از everything بجای All(the)things  استفاده می کنیم.

Someone

Someone wants to speak to you on the phone.

Somebody

Somebody has called you two times.

نکته : Somebody با Someone هم معنا هستند.

Something

Something is wrong.

Anyone

If anyone calls , tell him to call me back.

نکته : anyone همان everyone است.

Anybody

If anybody calls , tell him to call me back.

Anything

Is anything O.K.?

نکته : anything با everything  یکی است.

No one

No one understands me – not even my psychiatrist.

Nobody

Nobody has ever climbed this mountain.

نکته : Nobody را هر جا که No one به کار می بریم ، می توان استفاده کرد.

Nothing

There is nothing in the room; it is completely empty.

Each

Each girl in the class has her own desk.

Either

Either of these knows the way.

نکته : any one of the two یکی از این دو راه را بلد است.

Neither

Neither of them knows the way ,do they ?
